On 31st May 2000 Jeevan was designated as a Regional Blood Transfusion Centre (RBTC) by the Government of Tamil Nadu. |

Jeevan has been a Resource centre for National Plasma Fractionation Centre (NPFC), Mumbai, since September 2000. |

In November 2000,Jeevan introduced the concept of Satellite
blood storage centre to India. Under
a special G.O. one such a centre was setup in Dr. Rangarajan Memorial
Hospital (SMF). As per the arrangement, tested blood components
are sent to SMF according to their requirement. The hospital does the cross-matching
and issues the units to the patients admitted
there.Today this has become a practice in this country.
