To enter into agreements with hospitals in Chennai for the provision of 'Total transfusion services'. This would include,

• The provision of tested, cross-matched blood components
• Investigation of and advice on immuno haematological problems
• Advice on transfusion therapy
• Investigation of and advice on transfusion related problems

To create a 'rural district-based transfusion centre' model.

To establish a Thalassemia screening and management service

To cater to the transfusion needs of certain special categories of patients by providing special components, for instance, leukodepleted or irradiated products

We plan to set up a centre for Transfusion Medicine to,

• Train medical graduates in Transfusion Medicine
• Train laboratory technologists and ancillary staff in the field of Blood transfusion services
• Promote research and development in Transfusion Medicine
• Help others in the country to set up centres of excellence in blood banking and transfusion.
