INTERVAL SINCE LAST DONATION
Minimum 90 days
MAJOR ILLNESS / SURGERY
Persons with the following conditions are not eligible to donate blood
- Diseases of the heart or lungs
- Cancer
- High blood pressure and on medication for that.
- Abnormal bleeding tendency or blood disorder.
- Major Surgery (Can donate after 12 months)
BLOOD TRANSMITTED DISEASES Conditions that make your Blood Unsuitable for Donation
- Acquired Immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS HIV infection).
- Hepatitis B or C
- Syphilis
MEDICATION
People who are taking drugs for cancer treatment, heart diseases or current infections may also be not suitable as blood donor. Temporary deferral may also be necessary for other medications.
