At Jeevan we realise the importance of providing "on demand" safe blood to patients in a timely hassle free manner

Safe blood means...

  • blood which will not transmit disease
  • blood which will not cause any adverse reactions
  • blood which will serve the purpose for which it is transfused
Our quality programme minimises disease transmission by
  • collecting blood donations from only healthy, volunteers .
  • subjecting all prospective donors to a thorough pre-donation evaluation.
  • testing all donor blood for various infectious disease markers - HBsAg, Anti HBc-total, Anti HCV, HIV 1 & 2 antibody, Malaria, ALT, Leptospira and Syphilis.
  • adhering to good manufacturing practice.(GMP)

Our quality programme minimises transfusion reactions by

  • careful forward & reverse grouping, using adequate controls.
  • performing cross-matching using techniques, which are sensitive and designed to detect most clinically relevant antibodies.
  • following up on all discrepancies.

Our quality programme maximises medical utility by

  • converting all donated blood into its constituent components and thereby...
  • ensuring that each patient receives only the required component.
  • optimising and standardizing component yield so as to give reliable results.
  • providing consultation service regarding transfusion related problems and advocating rational blood use.
  • making special blood components available for patients with special needs e.g. washed RBCs, leukodepleted cellular products and volume reduced, components for paediatric applications.
  • Total quality management to ensure sterility, viability, quantity, safety and quality.

Our services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We provide the same quality of service at all times and to every patient.

Jeevan never stands still. As scientific advances result in better methods and improved performance, the Jeevan team implements these new techniques and tests to ensure that safer blood component(s) is a continuing reality.
