not-for-profit organisation and has been funded by public and corporate support. Stem Cells derived from
Umbilical Cord remains the hope of cure for children with Blood Cancers and Thalassemia.
The purpose of this public initiative is to help Children with Blood Cancers and Thalassemia.
This centre will accept cord blood donations, harvest the stem cells, ensure quality and adequacy by flow-cytometry, HLA type and store the stem cell units below minus 196 C in Liquid Nitrogen and make them available to patients. The cost of processing a single cord blood donation is approximately Rs.40,000 ($900).
Jeevan Stem Cell Bank offers hope to children who has equitable right to live like any other children with similar diseases in other parts of the world.
